Hi family,
Here is a very cool link with interesting information that Aunt Marsha sent. There is information, a journal, & pictures about Joseph Lee Robinson who is Grandma Christensen's great grandfather. (Virginia Robinson Christensen -> Jedidiah Grant Robinson -> Jedidiah Nephi Robsinson -> Joseph Lee Robinson). Especially interesting is a picture of Grandma as a child with her mother Charlotte Elsmore Shelley Robinson and other relatives & Bannock Indian Chief, Billy George (Topuda) and his wife Wee-to-Watsi.

Hello Family,
In my on-line geneology research, I came across this book A Mormon Rebel which is apparently a memoir of Frederick Gardiner. He appears to be our ancestor, James Gardner's, brother. I ordered a copy for myself from Signature Books. I thought some other family members might be interested too. Once I've looked it over, I'd be happy to lend it (As long as I get it back) for anyone who wants to look at it.
-Angie

P.S. Here's the begats in case you need them.
John Gardner & Mary Ann Goodship had Frederick (subject of the book) and James. James Gardner had Brigham Edward Gardner, who had Sarah Esther Gardner, who had Leonard Wayne Christensen (Grandpa).

Hey family,
I know that nobody really looks here, but I thought I would post this cool link I found anyway. It is the University of Utah's web-page, Shelley Idaho Photograph Collection There are quite a few interesting pictures, including some of John Franklin Shelley and his family and a couple pictures of Grandpa playing in the band.

I got this letter from Aunt Marsha Tuesday, concerning the reunion.

Dear family,
Approximately 90 family members braved the cooler weather and attended the annual Christensen reunion. In spite of the weather, we all had a good time. We appreciate those who were able to attend and missed those who weren't there.
After a great lunch, "Dozi" the Clown entertained the family and pictures were taken. Few, if any, went swimming this year. Angie provided a wonderful start to a ancestor's booklet and Marsha gave out the annual directories.
Next year's reunion was planned with the following things.
DATE: June 18-19...Friday, the 18th is for Grandpa and the original brothers and sisters and spouses. The Friday night activity will begin at 6:30 at either Janet 's home or Marsha's yard. PAULA is in charge of games for Friday evening. Janet is in charge of the dinner. The annual planning meeting will be done that evening instead of on Saturday.
SATURDAY ACTIVITIES...will again be at Pillsbury Park. For 2004 we will grill our meat at the park and everyone will bring their own meat...a salad and dessert. We can swim, play games, and visit.
FAMILY ASSIGNMENTS ARE:
SHARON...games for Saturday
JANET...Friday night dinner
MARSHA...reminder flyers and the directory and a grill for Saturday
BOB...finding an enclosed jumping apparatus for the kids...(Desi and CharReese will call with information)
STEVEN...Scrapbook and reunion pictures
PAULA...GAMES for Friday night and fixing for hamburgers such as mustard, ketchup, pickles, etc.
ALLAN...reserving the facilities...water to drink and is IN CHARGE OF THE WEATHER...we are requesting a nice day!
VICKIE...paper products and a grill for Saturday

STEVEN AND LLOYD are the designated grill chefs for Saturday...any other volunteers will be appreciated.

CHANGES TO THE DIRECTORY...
Courtney Fielding's email address is cfielding23@hotmail.com...Kelly Fielding's email address is ksf76@hotmail.com. I think some of the other email addresses need to deleted or updated because I was unable to transmit them. Please let me know if there is a change...THANKS! (marshadye@hotmail.com)

WE HOPE ALL CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS NOW TO ATTEND NEXT YEARS' REUNION.

Love, Aunt Marsha

I just wanted to let everyone know that after posting you must click the "Post & Publish" link not the link that just says "post" for the post to show up on the web-site. If you forget and press the wrong one, you can go to the blogger page (http://www.blogger.com or use the blogger link on the right of the posts), sign in & publish from there. Or let me know and I can do it. You may also edit your posts there. And to be able to see the newly published post you must refresh your screen using your web-browser "refresh" button.
Also blogger seems to be giving an error message when you try and post it says "Error 503: Unable to load template file. We're working on this. Please try back later." I'll check into it and try and find out what is wrong, but in the meantime it still appears to be publishing despite the message, so just refresh your screen and see if your post shows up. Let me know about any problems you might be having. (angie@casablanca.reno.nv.us)
Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

I thought it might be fun to start posting questions for everyone to answer here. It would be fun to get everyone involved and help us to get to know each other better, and we could keep them for our family history books. I thought since it's Thanksgiving we could start with the Thanksgiving question.

What are you thankful for?

You can answer in any way you'd like - short, long, multiple answers or focus on a single thing, whatever works for you. Try to be fairly specific though. :)

My answer is my family, I'm really glad that Nikki & Tim could come from Utah and all of us be together. I'm very blessed because each of my family members is my friend as well as family. I feel blessed to work in the same place as my mom and see her often.

Subject: Courtney's getting married

Dear Family,

Courtney and Kelly Fielding (of Goshen) have decided to get married on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 at 2 p.m. at the Shelley 3rd Ward Church. We want all of you to be aware of their wedding and hope some of you will be able to attend. Wedding announcements will be out shortly.

Kelly is the son of Keith and Carma Fielding and a grandson of Patriarch Arvil Fielding. He is a great young man and we are happy so see Courtney happy. Kelly has a 5 year old son named Skylar and we're happy to have another grandson.

For all the gals...there will be a bridal shower for Courtney at Kelli Dye
Robbin's home on Saturday, September 7 at 1 p.m.

Other exciting news...KELLI & QUINN are adopting a baby. She is due to arrive around September 23 (We hope she doesn't come before Courtney's wedding because she will be born in Montana and they will have to stay in Montana for 10 days before they get to bring her home.

They are planning on naming her Cassi Jo (After her birth mother Cassy and Kelli and Quinn's middle names...Jo and Joe). We are all so excited for them and looking forward to another baby girl.

Today, Kelli was also sustained and set apart as the Relief Society
President in the Goshen Ward. We were able to be there when she was sustained. This has been a very special day.

Just a short up-date on our family. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Love, Jess and Marsha

Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd post a quick message. Nothing to exciting going on here, but I thought I post to say that I got a new job. Pending the results of my physical and security checks I'll start working for America West Airlines as a ramp agent. That means I'll be the one that gets to do the fun stuff like guiding in the airplanes to park, and moving them around with the tug and stuff. It should be interesting (for a while anyway). Also I'm looking forward to seeing my mom on a daily basis, since she works an office position there. I don't think this will be a long-term thing, but it should be fun for a while, until I decide what to do with my life. :) Hope you all are well,
-Angela

For those of you who are accessing this through the blogger site It might be easier to access it from here.

Hi family,

I thought this would be a fun way for the family to keep in touch. You can post family news and links to websites. To post click where it says "post" to the right, and a pop-up box will appear. Write your message there then click on "post & publish." You will have to refresh your browser to see the new post.

To make a link - inside the box will appear the following code < a href="" > < /a >. Insert the web address (begining with http://) between the quotation marks, and the words you want to appear as a link between the > and <. For example the link in the following paragraph would look like this < a href="http://www.printroom.com/pictureSearch.asp?userid=christensen" >here< /a > (without the spaces after & before the brackets).

I've sent an invitation to everyone who has an e-mail listed in the current family directory, if you know of someone who got left out then contact me at angie@casablanca.reno.nv.us

I've also started scanning my parent's old family reunion pics, they are here.
